Hola Amigos!

Hey Friends! Hope that all is well! If it's not, pray. :)

This week was a good week. Our president came and visited us and shared with us a few words of advice about Faith. Faith --it's the first principle in the Gospel of Christ, and I still don't understand it fully. I could spend a lifetime learning more about Faith and still not know everything.  But Faith is something that is absolutely necessary in life. Only through our own faith can God work miracles in our personal lives.

I tried to work more on exercising my faith and we saw miracles that we were not expecting. We went to a couple of people's houses with only hopes that they would be there to teach them something. We found them, and WOW the Spirit really guided the lessons that we had. I cannot believe how great everything worked out on Saturday. Things came to my mind that I never would have thought of by myself to say to make the message we brought more meaningful.

It was a good day. Of course, God always likes to test our faith to see if we will continue exercising it even if we don't see results right away. That is what happened on Sunday to us. :) But, I promise you all that if you continue in the faith, you will see the miracles.

My invitation this week is that you can all find a new way to exercise your own faith in God. And then DO IT and you WILL see results.

Cambios!!!!

(Sent July 19, 2016 - Landon's 11-month mark.)

How's it going, everybody?

DQ Blizzard

Sorry for writing on a Tuesday. We had cambios (changes/transfers) yesterday. I didn't get changed, but I went to go sign some papers for immigration to show that I am a legal white guy here in Mexico. That's right, I've reached that point where it's time to take new pics for my green card. Dang. It's crazy to think how fast the time has passed.

I've learned a lot in my time here in the mission. And I'm excited to learn even more in the future. The mission is a time that is uncomparable to any other time.

This week was nice and hot hahaha. Bet you've never heard me say that in an email yet.

Elders Brindis (comp), Harrison, Lopez, Greenwood, and Viscaya

We have an investigator named Felix. This guy always said that he wanted to come closer to God, but he wouldn't do anything to show it. But, recently, he has started to pass through some hard times in his life. And now, he has begun to read the Book of Mormon and pray.

Zone Peeps (or is it "Peops?")

It's sad that we had to wait for a challenge to come into his life to make him realize that he needs God there. But, now is the time to teach him and help him understand the love that God has for him. We had an incredibly spiritual lesson with him as we taught him from 2 Nephi 4 about when Nephi was passing through a real trial in his life.

The invitation this week for all of you is to remember that God loves you. Whether it's raining or shining in your life, He loves you. Remember that. And remember Him.

Love you all!
Have the best week ever!

The Changes are Coming

Hola Todos!
How's it all going back in the US?        That's good to hear :)

Everything's bigger in....Mexico!

This week, we heard about a lot of changes that will be coming to the mission with our new mission president. It's a little crazy to think about how differently we will be doing things now as a mission.

Now that's a hot dog!

But, I know that Presidente Montoya has the keys, authority, and revelation to make those changes in accordance with the will of God. Meaning, that it is God's will that these changes happen. And, if we follow diligently our leader in these changes, we will find more success, more retention, more salvation, and more eternal happiness.

Finally allowed to eat pancakes!

They did change the rules on food. They want us to be able to be healthy without putting down rules to make us be that way. So pancakes - yes. :)

A little something to cool us off  :)

The only thing that's not changing here is the heat! hahaha! Nice and hot every day. But, my comp and I have learned what it is to sweat and preach at the same time. Now, it doesn't even bother us, because we are on the Lord's business. :)

My comp and I work well together in lessons. We haven't been able to teach a lot of formal lessons here, which has been lame. But, we are not giving up finding those people! They WILL know the Gospel and they WILL be happy gosh darn it!!!

Have a great Week!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!!

Hello everybody!
Hola Todos!!

First off, I just wanted to say HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today is a day to remember all the hard work and sacrifice that people have made in the past and now for their families, for their countries, and for their God. Let this day be a day to remember that God is a God of miracles. And that we would never have made it as far as we have if it were not for His eternal hands helping us along the way. Like our coins say, "In God We Trust." Let that phrase be true in each one of your lives.

Good stuff has been going on in the mission. My comp and I had the chance to baptize a little girl of a man who was baptized 8 years ago, who is just now getting another chance to come unto Christ and repent and have an eternal family. This week we also had a lot of cloud cover. It was a beautiful miracle.

Also got to know our new mission President - Presidente Montoya!!! He is a Mexican who was born in California, served in Mexico on his mission, met his wife-to-be there (in Veracruz), and has lived in several places in the states and in Mexico. Coming up on the end of their old couple's mission in the Mexico City mission offices, they were informed that they would be mission presidents. They finished up their mission, were home like 6 months, and now, they are here. :) They are good people and ready to put their shoulder to the wheel.

Love you all!
Have an Awesome Week!!!!
